Northern Point Analytics is a collaborative consulting group founded by Marcus Kleefman, Andreas She, and August Preussner, who met while studying business at the University of Alberta. Combining expertise in business, data analytics, and program evaluation, the team partners with non-profits, student organizations, community groups, and businesses to transform data into meaningful insights that support better decision-making, strengthen programs, and measure impact.

interVivos was proud to partner with Northern Point Analytics to evaluate the impact of its mentorship program. By analyzing participant surveys, program feedback, and event financials from 2020 to 2024, the team sought to better understand what makes programs successful and identify opportunities to strengthen them for future participants.

Measuring Impact

The analysis demonstrated consistently strong outcomes across multiple program years:

  • 100% of participants said the program was safe and inclusive.

  • 91% were satisfied with their mentor or protégé match.

  • 90% met with their match at least three times during the program.

  • 80% continued their mentoring relationship after the program ended.

  • 95% said they would participate again.

These findings confirmed that interVivos is doing more than facilitating mentorship matches. The program is creating meaningful relationships, expanding professional networks, and building lasting connections across Alberta.

Turning Insights into Action

Beyond measuring success, Northern Point Analytics identified several practical opportunities to further strengthen the program:

  • Help protégés establish clearer goals at the beginning of the program.

  • Introduce light mid-program check-ins to support mentorship success.

  • Enhance surveys to better measure long-term outcomes.

  • Develop an alumni network to keep participants connected beyond the program.

  • Continue focusing outreach on high-performing platforms such as Instagram and LinkedIn.

The team also reviewed launch event finances and found the events to be consistently sustainable, generating approximately a 2:1 return on investment. Rather than increasing ticket prices, the analysis recommended expanding sponsorship partnerships with local businesses to support future growth while maintaining an accessible, high-quality participant experience.

Looking Ahead

The partnership between interVivos and Northern Point Analytics demonstrates how data can help organizations validate their impact, strengthen their programs, and make informed decisions for the future. By combining analytics with community engagement, the project provided evidence that interVivos mentorship programs are making a meaningful difference while identifying practical opportunities for continuous improvement.

interVivos extends its sincere thanks to the Northern Point Analytics team for their thoughtful analysis and collaborative approach. Their work has provided valuable insights that will help guide the future of the mentorship program as we continue building meaningful connections, supporting leaders, and strengthening communities across Edmonton.
