Spotlight on Leadership: Fea Jerulen Gelvezon

interVivos is thrilled to celebrate one of our own, volunteer Board Secretary Fea Jerulen Gelvezon, for being named a 2025 Top 30 Under 30 by the Alberta Council for Global Cooperation. Fea’s passion for mentorship, education, and community-building is shaping a stronger, more inclusive Edmonton.

A Champion for Inclusive Leadership

Fea believes that real change begins with building individual capacity. She works to create opportunities for people—especially those from underrepresented groups—to develop the skills and confidence needed to participate meaningfully in their communities.

At the John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights, Fea designs and facilitates youth programs that tackle important issues such as anti-racism, digital literacy, and civic engagement. Her leadership has reached youth across Canada and recently took her to the Canadian Internet Governance Forum to explore pressing questions about digital rights and online participation.

Driving Representation Through interVivos

Fea’s contributions at interVivos reflect her dedication to mentorship and equity. In December 2024, she helped launch our Winter Mentorship Program, which proudly featured 10 Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour mentors. This intentional representation ensured that protégés could connect with mentors whose experiences resonate with their own journeys.

Another initiative that Fea champions is accessibility. For each mentorship program, interVivos partners with local nonprofits to provide a free protégé spot, making sure that financial barriers don’t prevent participation.

Why Fea Inspires Us

Fea’s recognition as a Top 30 Under 30 honouree highlights what drives her—and us at interVivos: the belief that education, mentorship, and community-building create lasting impact.

Her journey shows what’s possible when diverse voices are empowered and supported. At interVivos, we’re proud to have leaders like Fea shaping our programs and inspiring the next generation of changemakers.
